Frequently Asked Questions
Does my dental school matter for this programme?
No, as long as you hold a degree in dentistry, you’re eligible to apply.
Do I need to take any entry exams for this programme?
There’s no entry exam required to enrol in the ORE Preparation Course. However, you’ll take part in mock exams, both theoretical and practical, during the programme to ensure you’re fully prepared for the actual exam.
Does completing the ORE Preparation Course automatically register me with the GDC?
No. To practise as a dentist in the UK, you’ll need to pass both Part 1 and Part 2 of the ORE exam during or after your training. Our ORE Course Programme is designed to help you succeed in these exams by providing you with theory and practical training, mock tests, OSCE practices, and more.
If I don’t complete the ORE Preparation Course successfully, am I still allowed to take the ORE exams?
Absolutely. Completing this course is not required to sit the ORE exams. However, by following the programme, you’ll gain essential insights, exam strategies, and communication skills that will help you feel well-prepared for the exams.
Will I definitely pass the ORE exam if I complete the ORE Preparation Course?
While no guarantee can be made, students who finish the ORE Preparation Course tend to perform well in both ORE Part 1 and Part 2. The course is delivered by a highly experienced teaching team with extensive expertise in this area.
How long does the course last?
The course is scheduled over about five months, though you’ll retain access to recorded videos and written resources for up to a year after the programme concludes.
Do I need a certain level of English to join the programme?
Yes, since all lessons and support are delivered in English, we’ll need confirmation that your English level is sufficient to understand the sessions and participate actively. However, there’s no requirement to provide a formal English language certificate to enrol. Note that joining this course does not exempt you from the GDC’s IELTS Academic 7.0 requirement when applying for the ORE exams.
Can I submit results from another English language test for my GDC application instead of IELTS?
Unfortunately, no. The GDC only recognises IELTS, so certificates from other exams (e.g., TOEFL, YÖKDİL) are not accepted. Alternative routes to prove English proficiency are very limited and generally only apply to people from countries where English is the primary official language. If I graduated from a dental school that taught in English, will that be recognised?
If your dental degree was completed entirely in English—including all theoretical, practical, and clinical training—and your school can provide written confirmation of this, the GDC may accept it as proof for up to two years after graduation. Beyond two years, you’ll still need to take the IELTS.
Can current students join this programme?
Yes, final-year dental students are welcome to join. However, you’ll need to complete your degree before applying for the ORE. The GDC also requires that ORE applicants have completed a minimum of 1,600 hours of patient care experience, which can include experience gained during your 4th and 5th years.

The course is limited to 14 participants, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The total programme fee is £9,650, payable according to the following schedule:
- Pre-Registration (Non-Refundable Secure My Place Fee): £1,000
- Remaining Balance: If you register in November, you can pay in 5 instalments; if you register in December, you can pay in 4 instalments.
